CONTENIDO DEL PABELLÓN
Promovido por el Ministerio de Fomento, el pabellón español presenta un conjunto de proyectos realizados en los últimos tres años seleccionados por su destacada propuesta interior.
Interior es precisamente el concepto elegido por la organización española como hilo conductor de estas doce obras, de las cuales siete son de nueva construcción y cinco son rehabilitaciones o restauraciones.
Las obras seleccionadas tienen en común su especial tratamiento del espacio interior.
OBJETIVOS
La presencia española en la Biennale pretende consolidar el reconocimiento internacional del que ya goza nuestra arquitectura.
Además se busca poner en valor la maestría con la que los profesionales de la arquitectura llevan a cabo procesos de rehabilitación y restauración de edificios en desuso.
Finalmente, España quiere proyectar su posición como referente internacional de arquitectura en contexto, una arquitectura contemporánea que sabe combinar la identidad cultural, histórica y artística de su patrimonio con la innovación y la modernidad.
PROPUESTA EXPOSITIVA
El visitante podrá sentir que se encuentra físicamente en cada uno de estos doce emplazamientos a través de una recreación de cada uno de ellos. En cada sala habrá reproducciones fotográficas, secciones a gran escala y una secuencia de imágenes históricas de arquitecturas de referencia en cada una de las temáticas que representan las obras expuestas.

PAVILION CONTENTS
Promoted by Spain’s Ministry of Public Works (Ministerio de Fomento), the Spanish Pavilion presents a group of projects completed over the last three years, and selected for their noteworthy interior scheme.
Interior is, precisely, the concept chosen by the Spanish organization as guiding thread of these twelve works, seven of which are new and five are refurbishments or restorations.
The selected works all have in common their special treatment of the interior space.
OBJECTIVES
Spain’s presence at the Biennale aims to further strengthen the international recognition our architecture already enjoys. Another goal is to show the skill with which architecture professionals carry out refurbishment and restoration processes in disused buildings.
Finally, Spain wishes to project its position as international referent of architecture in context, a contemporary architecture that manages to combine the cultural, historic and artistic identity of its heritage with innovation and modernity.
EXHIBITION PROPOSAL
Visitors will feel as if they were physically inside each one of these twelve spaces through a recreation of each one of them. Each space will have photographs, large-scale sections and a series of historical images of architectures that have served as reference in each one of themes represented by the works displayed.
